Morris Property Management, run by Bernadette Morris, have been letting properties in the Rochdale area for a number of years, but over time their existing website had begun to look dated and was difficult to use.
Bernie came to RO Web Solutions with a redesign request, to both bring her website bang up to date, and also to simplify the management of property information. For some time she had been uploading property data to the Rochdale Online/Ask Local portal, but this information had to be duplicated in order to put the same information on her own site.
An integrated solution was required, allowing a single management interface that would control both sets of property listings, as well as the ability for users to sign up to email alerts and receive regular updates on new properties listed.
The project required an overhaul of the site architecture and visual design with a strong focus on property listings. Using a common database, Berni could continue to manage her property portfolio through the familiar Rochdale Online site, and this would also feed the new website, so newly-added properties are available on both facilities immediately.
An email alert system was integrated into the new site design, allowing users to register and specify their property requirements. As new properties are added, then registered users are notified within minutes about suitable properties.
The website is now more user friendly and has strong focus on brand. The site has also seen an increase in traffic and more visibility for key search terms in its first few months of being live.
In 2014 Bernadette started using the popular Vebra software to manage the company's property portfolio, and wanted to link this up with the website so the staff wouldn't need to duplicate effort in adding property information both to the website and the Vebra system.
We adopted Vebra's own datafeed mechanism to automatically import the information overnight from Vebra's servers and this has the added benefit of updating the Rochdale Online group of portals simultaneously.
