Joan's Cottage Industry

Joan came to RO Web Solutions via her husband John, who was already a website customer, since we developed an Estate Agency website for his company Choice Estates in early 2016.  Looking to expand her flair for creating wonderfully designed celebration cakes into a business, Joan had reached the point where she needed an online presence to get her business recognised and to act as a portfolio of her cake designs.

Working from a specially built kitchen facility, Joan is able to produce magnificent creations in all types of cake design, from multi-tier wedding cakes to specialised childrens' themed birthday cakes; in fact she can turn her hand to almost anything!  Her sugar floristry skills are amazing and you'll be mesmerised when you start to browse through the wonderful creations in her website gallery.

Never a Cakewalk!

Joan knew that she wanted a logo based around a calligraphic font so we crafted one for her, using a burgundy and taupe theme, which we carried through to the website colour scheme.  Our solution was to create a content managed site so that Joan could upload her own photographs and descriptions, though she was so taken with our Photoshop skills in 'cutting out' her cakes to sit against a plain background, that we are actually managing the content for her on an ongoing basis.

Of course, it goes without saying that the site is mobile friendly, but as well as the website development itself, we were also pleased to create complementing Business Card and A5 Flyer print designs featuring the logo and colour scheme, and one of Joan's favourite cake creations.
